We're known for the beauty of our countryside, the splendor of our
seasons, and the warmth of our people. Shelbyville is home to the
world-famous Tennessee Walking Horse. Come explore our area and see the
rolling hills, farmland, horses, and wonderful sights that await you.
If you're planning a visit to the area in late August, be sure to check out the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration. For shoppers, we have downtown Shelbyville's Historic Court House Square with its unique shops. Visit nearby Historic Bell Buckle and Wartrace for arts, crafts and a variety of antiques. In addition, Shelbyville is a stone's throw away from both Jack Daniel's Distillery and the Tennessee Walking Horse Museum on Lynchburg's town square. The Museum is open Tuesday - Saturday, 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. They close for lunch from 12:00 (noon) until 1:00 p.m. For more information, you may call the Celebration Office at 1-931-684-5915 or the museum at 1-931-759-5747.
